From Raw Material to Production-Ready Metal Component

FORMET produces precision metal components by CNC machining, forging and stamping – often combining processes in one part, such as a forged blank finished on a CNC lathe. The process route is chosen from the drawing, the annual volume and the tolerances that matter to the function of the part, not from what a single workshop happens to own.

Precision Metal Components: Materials & Grades

Carbon, alloy and stainless steels are the usual choice for precision metal components in industrial equipment, with aluminum used where weight matters and brass or bronze where conductivity, corrosion or wear behavior leads the choice. Heat treatment, plating and other surface treatments are specified on the drawing and controlled as part of the process plan.Dimensional control is planned before the first cut: critical characteristics are identified from the drawing, measured on first-article parts and then checked at a defined frequency during production. Material certificates are issued per lot, and parts can be packed and labeled to the customer’s receiving standard.
Our CNC machining services cover turned and milled parts made from bar stock or forged blanks, including precision machined components that need tight bores, threads or sealing faces. Forged components are finished on the same route, and custom metal stamping is used for brackets and flat parts when the volume justifies a progressive die. Each route is chosen to hold the critical dimensions at the lowest total cost.
