Custom Manufacturing Services & Capabilities
ONE INTEGRATED, ACCELERATED PROCESS.
END-TO-END MANUFACTURING AND DELIVERY CAPABILITIES.
FORMET provides custom manufacturing services for OEMs across six product lines: engineered plastics, precision metal components, industrial tooling, tunneling and cutting tools, engineering and OEM solutions, and high-volume production. Each program is managed by one engineering team from design review to PPAP and delivery, so you get one point of contact for parts that span several processes.
Our capabilities include injection molding, CNC machining, precision forging, metal stamping, mold and die manufacturing, threading and fastener tooling, assembly, and specialized cutting and wear components.
From concept to high-volume production, we support material selection, CAD/CAM, DFM, tooling, prototyping, testing, PPAP, and production engineering for both specialized and high-volume OEM programs.
With integrated quality control, packaging, identification, and international logistics, FORMET provides a reliable manufacturing and supply solution for customers across the United States, Canada, and global markets.
For established designs we also provide contract manufacturing services: OEM manufacturing to your drawing, with custom components delivered from the first production lot to repeat orders. See how every program is documented.
- How We Work
How to start a custom manufacturing project
Send us a drawing, a 3D model or a sample together with your expected annual volume and target price. Within the review we check manufacturability, propose the right process and material, and flag anything that would add cost or risk in production.
You receive a quote that shows the full landed cost – part, tooling, freight, duties and delivery – so there are no surprises after the first purchase order. Tooling is quoted separately and stays dedicated to your program
Once the sample is approved, production starts under a control plan with in-process inspection and lot traceability. For recurring demand we can hold safety stock so that your line is not exposed to transit delays.

Materials, processes and quality documentation
Our custom manufacturing services cover the full process range that OEM parts call for: CNC turning and milling on multi-axis machines, cold and hot forging, sheet-metal stamping with progressive tooling, plastic injection molding with multi-cavity and insert-molding tools, thread cutting and thread rolling, heat treatment, and surface finishing such as hot-dip galvanizing, plating, painting and passivation. Welding, assembly, marking and packaging are handled inside the same program, so a finished, labeled part arrives at your dock rather than a loose component.
Materials follow your drawing. On the metal side we work with alloy and carbon steels, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass, bronze and tool steels. On the plastic side we mold HDPE, PA6, PA66, PP, POM, PBT, PC and other engineering thermoplastics, including glass-fibre reinforced and UV-stabilised grades. Cutting tools use tungsten carbide inserts. Most raw materials are sourced close to the manufacturing partners, which keeps lead times short and supply predictable.
Every program is backed by documentation you can hand to your own quality team: dimensional reports from CMM, optical comparator and gauge measurements, mechanical tests such as tensile, hardness and torque where the drawing calls for them, plastic material checks including moisture and melt-flow, coating thickness and adhesion tests, material certificates, and PPAP packages with process flow and control plan for production launches. Lot identification and traceability run from raw material to shipment.
Typical parts include housings, brackets, covers, threaded inserts, cable spreaders, wire holders, shafts, pins, bushings, fittings, couplers, molds, dies, threading chasers and cutter rings, from prototype and PPAP sample runs to recurring high-volume supply for power distribution, appliance, automotive, construction and industrial OEMs. If your part is not on this list, send the drawing: our custom manufacturing services are built around the requirements of the finished component, not around a fixed catalog.
